English cricketer Alex Hales praised Pakistani fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi’s brilliant bowling skills and called him “the best bowler of the new ball”. Shaheen Afridi made headlines during the final of the 2022 T20 World Cup with a delivery that bowled the heels clean and increased Pakistan’s chances of winning the game.

Alex Hales, who will soon be Shaheen Afridi’s teammate at Nottinghamshire during the 2023 Vitality Blast, praised the Pakistani bowler for his outstanding skills and said that the moment he was dismissed by Afridi in the final gave him an idea of the quality of the bowler. There was no doubt. Alex Hales said, “In my opinion he gets the late swing at 6ft 7in, Shaheen Afridi is one of the best new-ball bowlers in the world, if Shaheen Afridi had not been injured, we would have been in trouble.” Grateful, he was devastated when he got injured, we could actually hear him screaming and moaning from the room, it was a great game of cricket and to win a world title was as special as it gets.

Shaheen Afridi is set to join the pace bowling attack alongside Jack Ball and Ollie Stone in the 2023 edition of the Blast.
