Hakimi’s wife actress Hiba Abuk recently filed for divorce.

Paris Saint-Germain and Morocco footballer Ashraf Hakimi have been accused of rape. French prosecutors told the AFP news agency that Hakimi, 24, was questioned by prosecutors on Thursday about the 24-year-old woman’s allegations and subsequently charged. The Madrid-born player, who was instrumental in Morocco’s historic World Cup semi-final in Qatar last year, was spotted at PSG’s practice session on Friday morning.

On Monday, Hakimi was also present at the FIFA awards ceremony in Paris where he was named in the FIFPro Men’s World Team of the Year. In the Qatar World Cup, he was a very important member of the Moroccan team, which was the first team from the Arab world to reach the final four of the World Cup. Under French law, an indictment does not mean that a trial will take place. Hakimi has been placed under police surveillance and is barred from contacting the alleged victim, the prosecution office said.
According to international media, Hakimi’s wife, actress Hiba Abuk, reportedly filed for divorce recently.
