This Monday, the earth shook in Turkey and Syria . A magnitude 7.8 earthquake caused a real humanitarian disaster: more than 20,000 dead and nearly a million people in need of aid according to the UN. All coupled with unprecedented material damage. But these would not be the only repercussions. Indeed, earthquakes are suspected to have also wreaked havoc underwater.

Six beaked whales were found dead on Friday off the northern coast of the island of Cyprus. Four other specimens washed up on Thursday. Three of them were brought back to sea, and the fourth died.
