Muscat: In the presence of renowned Islamic preacher Dr. Zakir Naik in Oman, India contacted the Gulf country for his extradition. According to Indian media, Dr. Zakir Naik has arrived in Oman to deliver 2 lectures on the official invitation of the government, where he delivered a speech at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center it is said that the event was organized by the government, which Organized by the Oman Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs, the government also officially confirmed the event, Zakir Naik’s first lecture entitled “The Holy Quran is a Global Need” was held on March 23 at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center. , his second lecture on “Prophet Muhammad’s Mercy to Mankind” is scheduled for March 25 at Sultan Qaboos University.

 

It is learned that India is monitoring the event, and Indian intelligence agencies are also said to be in touch with Omani government officials to detain Zakir Naik during his visit to the country, the Ministry of External Affairs said. The matter has been taken up with the Consulate General of Oman in India, while the Indian Consulate in Oman has also taken up the matter with the Government of Oman.

In this regard, the spokesperson of the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said that the Indian government is in contact with Oman after the news of the Gulf country hosting Zakir Naik. Zakir Naik is accused in several cases in India. and we will continue to take all necessary steps to bring him to justice in India. It may be noted that renowned religious scholar Dr. Zakir Naik was also invited to give lectures during the FIFA World Cup, where he gave lectures on religious topics throughout the tournament.
