It has been announced to build ‘rest stops’ for delivery riders in Dubai. RTA will build Dubai rest spots for delivery riders. I asked to do it. According to Gulf media, Dubai’s delivery riders will soon have designated rest areas as the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has issued a tender for constructing three integrated rest stops in the emirate, the station being Sheikh Zayed. Roads will be Jabal Ali Village near Festival Plaza, Port Said along Al Murqabat Street 22, and Ras Al Khor Industrial Area 2 near Al Manama Street.

The project is said to be aimed at providing basic services for delivery riders such as maintenance, refueling, rest areas, and restaurants, RTA said in a statement to ensure public safety and quality regulation at these sites. The project is in line with RTA’s efforts to streamline and enhance the safety of its delivery business, which has been on the rise for the past few years.

RTA said there were 2,891 delivery service companies in Dubai as of December, an increase of 48.3 percent compared to 2021, in addition to more than 36 online delivery companies operating through smart platforms and applications. , the sharp rise in accidents involving delivery motorcycle riders in recent years has prompted authorities to launch initiatives such as issuing professional riding certificates, service excellence awards, and workshops to educate drivers about traffic rules.
