LAHORE: During the last year, Adidas has seen a huge increase in market share of 6% in Pakistan.
According to the details, Pakistan now holds the third largest market share in the world in Adidas’ accessory and gear category, with only Turkey and China ahead of the country. Currently, Pakistan has a market share of 21%, while Turkey has 25% and China has 28%.
Pakistan’s market share increased from 15 percent last year to 21 percent this year. Adidas is the second largest sportswear manufacturer in the world. They specialize in three categories including sportswear, footwear, and accessories. According to the details, Pakistan’s market share increased due to the increase in exports of sports goods, especially football.
Football exports increased by 35.70 percent, from $114.5 million last year to $155.4 million this year. This was mainly due to last year’s FIFA World Cup in Qatar, in which Pakistani footballs manufactured by Adidas were used. Pakistan has been a major supplier of football for mega-events over the years.
