Lahore: National team fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi broke the 27-year-old record of ‘second master’ Saqlain Mushtaq. 23-year-old Shaheen Afridi took 2 wickets by giving 65 runs in the first ODI against New Zealand, after which he has surpassed Saqlain Mushtaq and Rana Naveed Al Hasan in the list of national bowlers who have taken more wickets after 33 ODIs.
Shaheen Afridi has so far taken 64 wickets in 33 ODIs at an average of 24.10.
The first number in the list of bowlers who took more wickets in the first 33 ODI matches for Pakistan is Hasan Ali who took 68 wickets, former captain Waqar Younis is second in this list with 65 wickets. Shaheen Afridi is third with 64 wickets, Saqlain Mushtaq is fourth in this list with 61 wickets while Rana Naveed Al Hasan is at the 5th position with 58 wickets.
