Gujarat Titans team director Vikram Solanki said that the young Indian opener Shubman Gill has a smart cricketing mind and can also emerge as the captain of the team in the future.
 Gill has been consistently performing well at the international level since the IPL. Recently, Gill also scored a double-century in the ODI series against New Zealand. Last year too, he was instrumental in helping the team win its first IPL title.

While Hardik Pandya will be seen leading the team this season, Shubman Gill, who is part of the main squad, is being looked at as the future captain. In this regard, team director Vikram Solanki said during a virtual media that Shubman is a leader and he takes many responsibilities on himself. Shubham has played the role of a leader since last year with his work ethic and professional attitude toward the game.
